Formula, Structure, and Rules of Past Continuous Tenses

Formula:

Subject + was/were or was/were + Not + 1^st form of (verb) + ing + object.

 Examples:

1. He was going to the museum.

2.  He was waiting for you.

3. The dog was barking at him.

4. I was driving his car.

5. He was writing a letter.
