Speech on New Zealand independence

By: Prof. Dr. Fazal Rehman Shamil | Last updated: October 17, 2024

Good morning, everyone!

Today, I want to talk about New Zealand and its journey to independence. New Zealand is a beautiful country with stunning landscapes, mountains, and beaches. It became a self-governing country on September 26, 1907. This is an important day for New Zealand!

Before this date, New Zealand was ruled by Britain. The people wanted to have more control over their own country. They worked hard and showed their desire for independence. Finally, in 1947, New Zealand signed the Statute of Westminster. This allowed them to make their own laws without British control.

Independence means that New Zealand can decide how to run its government and make choices for its people. The people of New Zealand are proud of their culture and history. They celebrate their independence with festivals, music, and traditions.

New Zealand is known for its friendly people and beautiful nature. It is a place where everyone can work together to build a bright future.

On Independence Day, we remember the hard work of those who helped New Zealand become free. Let’s celebrate their achievements and the joy of being independent!

Thank you!
