BASIC SCALE, NAME & NATURE OF (BS-18) ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH (on a regular basis)
SPECIALIZED HEALTHCARE & MEDICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
PRESCRIBED QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE AS PER SERVICE RULES:
a) i) MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications recognized by the PMDC:-
ii) Postgraduate qualifications in order of preference:
D.Sc., Ph.D, FCPS, M.D, M. Phil, M.S/M.Sc (of two year duration) in the subject/speciality or in Community
Medicine/Community Health/Public Health with major subject/dissertation in Industrial Health/Occupational
Health/Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Hygiene or equivalent qualifications recognized by the PMDC. or FCPS (Medicine)/M.D with Diploma in Industrial Health/Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene/ Occupational Hygiene or equivalent qualifications recognized by the PMDC.
If persons with above qualifications are not available, then;
i) M.Sc. from a recognized University in Industrial Health/Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Hygiene.
ii) Candidate without a basic medical qualifications shall be eligible for appointment provided they possess atleast D.Sc. or
Ph.D. Degree and provided a medical graduate with requisite qualification is not available.
NOTE: Persons without Postgraduate qualification or Minor Diploma holders are not eligible for appointment as Assistant
Professor and above
b) Experience: Five years teaching or practical experience before or after postgraduate qualifications in the relevant subject in order or preference, as under:
1st Preference: Teaching experience.
2nd Preference: Practical experience after postgraduate qualifications.
3rd Preference: Practical experience before post-graduation.
c) Research: Credit should be given to the original research work published in a standard medical journal, i.e. the Journals as
listed in index Medicus or excerpta Medica. The term also includes the Journals of PMRC, Armed Forces Medical Journal,
Journal of Pakistan Medical Association (Central), Pakistan Journal of Health and Pakistan Heart Journal etc.
NOTE: Experience certificate alongwith appointment letter(s) in respect of Contract, Current Charge, Acting Charge and appointment on Adhoc Basis which are issued by the Appointing Authority/ Head of Institution/ Organization/ Department under the rules, shall be accepted
AGE:
Male: 25 to 45+5= 50 years
Female: 25 to 45+8= 53 years
As per Government of the Punjab Notification No. SOR-I (S&GAD)9-36/81 dated 21 May 2012 and Notification No. SOR-I (S&GAD)9-2/2022 dated 26 January 2022.
Age and sex of the transgender will be based on the contents of their CNIC.

SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION/ TEST (IF HELD):-
One paper MCQ Type Written Test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration. The proportion of Questions in the MCQ Test shall be approximately:-
a) Qualification related Questions: (80%)
b) Questions related to General Knowledge: (20%)
General Knowledge includes Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science & Basic Computer Studies.
