How to resize the shape with same proportion in adobe illustrator?

Step 1:

Select the shape with “rectangle tool”.

Step 2:

To resize the shape, drag one of the corner handles while holding down the “Shift” key on your keyboard.

Step 3:

After you’re happy with the shape’s new size, Release the mouse button.

Note:  The “Shift” key makes sure that the shape’s proportions don’t change when you resize it.
