Let me share with you a difference between gizzard and stomach.

Introduction Gizzard is located in the digestive tract, typically between the esophagus and the small intestine. Stomach is located in the upper abdominal area, following the esophagus.
Structure It is a muscular, thick-walled organ It is a muscular, elastic-walled organ
Function Grinds and breaks down ingested food particles with the help of stones or grit swallowed by the animal Secretes digestive enzymes and acids to break down food chemically
Composition Contains strong muscles and often contains grit or stones Lined with mucous membranes and contains gastric glands that produce digestive juices
Found in Birds, some reptiles, and some invertebrates Mammals, reptiles and some birds
Digestive Role Part of the hindgut in birds and assists in the final stages of digestion Part of the foregut in mammals and initiates the digestion process
Size Relatively small in comparison to the stomach Size varies among species, can be relatively large in some animals
Adaptations Some species have specialized adaptations, such as the use of stones for grinding in birds Adaptations may include different types of stomachs e.g., monogastric or ruminant stomach based on dietary habits
