  1. a) A bowl contains 12 poker chips, 3 red, 4 white, and 5 blue. If one of these poker chips is selected at random from the bowl, what is the probability that its color is is red?
  2. Red or white?

  1. b) Two fair dice are rolled; find the conditional probability that the sum of the two dice will be 7

given that the sum is odd.


(4) There are three families, each having four children; 2 boys and 2 girls; 3 boys and 1 girl and I boy and 3 girls. A child from each family is invited to a party. Find the probability that i) only girls turn up for the party, il) two girls and I boy turn up for the party.
